CROFTY AT 50

We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to join us to celebrate the 50th birthday of former England and Glamorgan legend Robert Croft MBE.

The ‘Crofty at 50’ celebration lunch will be held at the luxurious Morgans, Swansea on Friday 15th May and will include former Glamorgan legends Simon Jones MBE and Tony Cottey.

The hugely popular Robert Croft went on win 21 test caps for England and 50 one-day internationals. He is Glamorgan’s most-capped England player, having featured in 21 Tests and 50 one-day internationals and is the only player to achieve the double of 1,000 first-class wickets and 10,000 first-class runs with the Welsh county.

Simon Jones played a starring role when England regained the Ashes in 2005 taking a priceless 18 wickets. He began his career with Glamorgan in 1998, going on to play 18 Tests and eight one-day internationals. In his peak, Jones was one of the most feared fast bowlers in World cricket.

Tony Cottey was the man you wanted in any Glamorgan crisis. Small of stature, big of heart – ‘Cotts’ went on to become a Glamorgan favourite scoring 31 hundreds amid nearly 15,000 first-class runs. Full of fun and laughter with more stories than Harold Robbins and Jackie Collins combined, Cottey’s tales are retold in his hugely entertaining autobiography entitled: There’s Only 2 Tony Cotteys. Without doubt, one of the great characters of the game.

The afternoon will commence at 1:00pm and will include a sumptuous three-course lunch, charitable raffle and auction. The dress code is smart casual.
