Morgans Hotel Ltd are committed to fulfilling our obligation under the Disability Discrimination Act to ensure our services and facilities are available to disabled people.

Exposure and approach
The Townhouse is situated across a side road from the Main Hotel. The Hotel is situated in the city centre, set off from a two lane access road. There are pedestrian crossings across the access road which leads on to the shops and central city area. The area is well lit at night.

The city centre is serviced with a public bus system and Swansea train station is a 5 – 10 minute car journey away. Taxis including accessible taxis can be arranged by Reception.

A private car park is available opposite the main entrance to the hotel. The car park is on a flat level and is tarmacked. The car park is approximately 11 metres from the main entrance of the Main Hotel and approximately 120 metres from the Townhouse. The road outside the hotel is made up of stone sets and the side road is tarmacked. There is a designated disabled parking bay in the car park and a single yellow line on the road outside the hotel. Porters are available 24 hours

a day to assist guests. The nearest shop mobility scheme is in St David’s Centre located in the city centre.

Main entrance of the hotel
The hotel is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. There are steps with handrails and ramp access to the main entrance. The doors are manual however assistance is available from the Porters 24 hours a day to help with settling in and there is a doorbell. The entrance leads into the bar area which is all on one level.

The bar is all on one level with walkways wide enough for a wheelchair, Zimmer frame and pushchair. Furniture can also be rearranged. The bar has a wooden floor.

Guests staying in the Townhouse are required to check in at Reception in the main building. Reception is staffed 24 hours a day. There is a seating area available and a low level table. There are 2 steps between the main entrance/bar level and reception. Level access can be obtained from the corridor leading from the bar past the disabled toilet.

Restaurant and Atrium
Breakfast is served in the Restaurant and therefore guests staying in the townhouse are required to come over to the Main Hotel for breakfast. The Restaurant and Atrium are on the first floor and can be accessed via the lift or stairs. A variety of seating arrangements are available in a spacious area. Information about menus is available verbally and the hotel can cater for any special dietary requirements.

Corridors and doors
The corridors are well lit and all corridors and doors are wide enough for a wheelchair, Zimmer frame and pushchair. All our doors are dark wood and are a colour contrast to the colour of the walls. Corridors are all carpeted.

Public toilets
All public toilets are accessible on the ground floor which includes a disabled unisex toilet. The disabled toilet has support rails, a baby change unit and panic alarm fitted.

Lifts / stairs
The hotel has a ground floor and a first floor. There is a lift for access to the first floor corridors, Atrium and Restaurant. The lift is situated to the left of the main entrance and has Braille signs.
The main staircase is by reception and has 26 steps. The steps are carpeted and there are handrails.

Other public areas
The Meeting Room is on the ground floor to the right of the main entrance.
The Champagne Bar is situated on a mezzanine level from the main bar up 11 steps. The steps are marble. It is not accessible by ramp.
The Plimsoll Line function room is to the left of the bar and is accessed down 6 steps. It is not accessible by ramp.
The Library (small meeting room) is accessible by 3 steps. It is not accessible by ramp.

Outside space
The Decking area is available on the ground floor and has one step to access it. A ramp can be used.

Our bedrooms are ensuite and have either twin or double beds. It is possible for some double bedrooms to be converted to twin bedded rooms. Subtitles can be used on the televisions.

There is good contrast between floors, doors and walls in the bedrooms. The bedrooms either have wooden or carpeted floors, bathrooms with tiled floors and there is a telephone in every bedroom. 24 hour room service is only available in the Main Hotel.

One bedroom in the Townhouse has been adapted for wheelchair use but 19 bedrooms have wide enough doors and are accessible on the ground floor or by lift for wheelchair access. The adapted bedroom has special fittings including vibrating pillow, panic cord in bathroom and bedroom, lower height handles and door entry system, lower rail in wardrobe, walk in shower with adjustable shower and shower seat, toilet rails and a lower sink. The bathroom flooring is non-slip Altro flooring.

Additional lighting in bedrooms is available on request

Each floor and bedroom is fitted with an audible fire alarm. The staff have the responsibility to ensure that all guests are evacuated in the event of fire or any emergency requiring evacuation. Emergency lighting is fitted on all floor areas.
